“ChineseNew face” influences the world fashion industry

More and more Chinese designers are involved in International Fashion Week to show the charm of “Chinese design” At the same time, other Chinese design new forces internationally are another way, are overseas study and local fashion Chinese design.  HaotianDong is one of the representatives.

Haotian Dong has won the 2023 IDA Design Award and the 2023 Indigo Design Award. Two significant design awards. “CloudThorn” is a visual discussion of facial fillings: how people are obsessed with fillers and how we feel fear and pain. The name “CloudThorn” comes from the texture of the filling agent.

Haotian Dong’s creative achievements have attracted the attention of the world fashion industry. AQUA Selection, a well-known Australian senior women’s wear brand, offered an olive branch to  HaotianDong, invited him to design a new season brand VI, and discussed the feasibility of issuing a joint series.

AQUA Selection Founded in 2014, Sydney is a company focusing on fashion and related industries, affiliated to Australia Kaixuan Yatai Holdings Co., Ltd. (Aqua Luxe Asian Pacific Holdings Pty Ltd.).

It is worth mentioning that the company’s management team has two Chinese elites, one of the few Chinese faces in the world’s top luxury management field.

As a visual designer,However, from his love for design,Haotian Dong switched major to Graphic Design right after one year of study in college.  After graduation, he studied in a graduate program in graphic design at Pratt and worked as an intern at BrawHaus, a design firm in Brooklyn. Currently working for the well-known American advertising company “Admerasia.” Responsible for the advertising of many well-known European and American brands in Asia, Haotian Dong takes this opportunity to cooperate with famous international luxury goods groups and brands, such as “LVMH,” “CITI BANK,” “FX CHANNEL” and “US ARMY,” etc. and has gained a lot of valuable experience in practice.

Being the new face of China’s generation, Haotian Dong has a way of viewing the world independently and understands the “art of compromise” of transforming art into a business.

“Sometimes customers want to sacrifice the product’s design to deliver faster. You have to know when to compromise and when to persist. I think this is a crucial part of the designer’s work. Controlling the overall process of the project, aesthetic appreciation is the unshakable bottom line.” Said Haotian Dong.

For Haotian Dong, winning the award and cooperation with international fashion brands is just the beginning, and the future has infinite possibilities. He hopes to bring new imagination and ways of thinking to the world through his own works of art.”

“Art design itself is a kind of philosophical thinking about life. Only the combination of visual impact and emotional resonance can produce a beautiful work.“ said Haotian Dong.

As one of the most important markets in the global fashion industry, China has become a frequent collaborator with international fashion brands that not only sell their products but also attempt to incorporate more Chinese elements into their product planning and design.

As a result, cross-border collaborations with Chinese artists have become increasingly common. Haotian’s path of breaking boundaries may become a trend in the  fashionindustry.

越来越多的中国本土设计师亮相国际时装周展现“中国设计”的魅力的同时,另外一股中国设计新生力量正在以另外一种方式在国际时尚界,这就是海外求学并且融入当地时尚界的中国设计新生力量,来自中国的董昊天就是其中代表之一。

董昊天的创意成就吸引了世界时尚界的目光,澳洲知名高级女装品牌AQUA Selection 向董昊天抛出橄榄枝,邀请他作为新一季品牌VI设计,并且探讨出具联名系列的可行性。

AQUA Selection是2014年成立于悉尼的一家聚焦时尚及相关行业的公司,隶属于澳大利亚凯璇亚泰控股有限公司(Aqua Luxe Asian Pacific Holdings Pty Ltd.),值得一提的是,该公司的管理团队里拥有两位华裔精英,是全球顶级奢侈品管理领域少有的华人面孔。

作为视觉设计师是董昊天源自对设计的热爱,大学毕业后在美国普瑞特学院Pratt的平面设计专业攻读研究生项目,同时在布鲁克林的?家设计事务所—BrawHaus实习。目前就职的美国知名广告公司Admerasia。负责很多知名欧美品牌在亚洲地区的?告投放,董昊天借此有机会与国际知名奢侈品集团及品牌合作,如 “LVMH”, “CITI BANK”, “FX CHANNEL”以及“US ARMY” 等,在实践中获得了大量的宝贵经验。

董昊天这一代”中国新面孔“具有独立看待世界的方式,也懂得艺术转化商业的“妥协艺术”。“有时候客户想牺牲产品的设计,以便更快地交付或仅仅是为了取悦客户。你必须知道何时妥协,何时坚持。我认为这是设计师?作中?常重要的?部分,对项目整体进程的把控,审美是不可撼动的底线。”董昊天说。

视觉设计师、平面设计师、视频创意师、时装跨界联名艺术家.....对于多重身份的董昊天来说,获奖及与国际时装品牌合作仅仅是一个开端,未来充满着无限可能。他希望通过自己的艺术作品,为世界带来新的想象力和思考方式。“艺术设计本身就是一种对于人生的哲学思考,视觉冲击力和情感共鸣的结合才能出美好的作品。“

中国作为世界时尚行业最重要的市场之一,国际时尚品牌除了销售其产品外,也在试图从产品企划设计源头加入更多的中国元素,与中国艺术家跨界合作日益频繁。年轻艺术家董昊天的破圈之路,或许会成为一种趋势。
